Sparrows

Sparrows

Took a few minutes at the end of a day long seminar on reading instruction to relax out at Elkhorn Slough yesterday afternoon. It was so beautiful out there. Peaceful and quiet. These little sparrows were feeding in the old barnyard. So sweet. I might take the kids out there again today . . . or go buy a hamster instead. Hard to decide!

Darn house sparrows.
But peace and quiet sound wonderful. Send some my way!

Actually, I think they are immature White-Crowned Sparrows. Very cute. Very shy.

Check that -- maybe Savannah Sparrows!

The one in the middle, that we can see in profile, is most definitely a female house sparrow.

Sigh. I feel so befuddled by all this. I did a close-up of the sparrow in profile and did some research and . . . well, I think I'll make a whole post out of this. It's so interesting.
